These men served village well

The village of Carpentersville recently released the retirement information for many long-term firefighters. The Carpentersville community is safer today because of the work of these men. They have shown exemplary leadership and have provided quality service to the citizens of Carpentersville for many years.

I had the distinct pleasure to work with all of these gentleman during my career, and Carpentersville was lucky to have had these men. Battalion Chief Larry Campbell, Battalion Chief Rick Paul, Assistant Chief Steve Roesslein, Lt. Tony Tortorea and Lt. John Muir have left a legacy for the younger members of the fire department that should not soon be forgotten. These will certainly be big shoes to fill.

As a former resident and co-worker I want to say thanks for everything you have done. Distance separates us but the bond isn't broken. Good luck gentlemen in whatever you choose to do!
