Scouting: Sky @ Lynx
Chicago Sky (1-4) at Minnesota Lynx (1-4)When: 7 p.m. todayWhere: Target CenterTV: CN100Last time: On Thursday, the Sky defeated the Seattle Storm at Allstate Arena (84-75) and the Lynx lost on the road to the Connecticut Sun (105-75).The skinny: The Sky should be energized after its first win of the season Thursday, beating a Seattle team that was previously undefeated and features some of the best players in the league. The challenge now is to maintain focus for the full 40 minutes. The Sky could have blown Seattle out of the gym, going up by as many 19 points in the fourth quarter. But a steady Seattle rally cut the Sky's advantage to as few as 5 points. The Sky will also need to focus on Minnesota forward Charde Houston, who is averaging a team-best 18 points per game. She's one of five Lynx players who average double figures. Minnesota also features star point guard Lindsay Whalen, who was acquired by the Lynx in the off-season from Connecticut. She averages 12.2 points and 4.4 assists per game and played her college ball at the University of Minnesota. Three Sky players average double figures, led by 6-foot-6 center Sylvia Fowles, who is at 18 points per game. Against Seattle, the Sky also got valuable production out of its bench. Rookie reserve guard Epiphanny Prince, who averages 10.2 points per game, scored 13 points against the Storm. Next: Atlanta at Philips Arena, 6 p.m. Friday
