Roskam hypocracy on education bill?

I was distressed when I recently saw a picture of DuPage County educational leaders along with U.S. Rep. Peter Roskam discussing the impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act on schools in DuPage County.

I was distressed because I assume there are some benefits to the county schools, yet Roskam voted against the bill. Unless Peter was apologetic for having voted against the measure, or the group of educatiors had rejected the funds offered by the bill, or Peter was not claiming credit for bringing money to DuPage schools, it smacks of pure hypocrisy on his part.

Accepting responsibility for one's actions is uncommon today and Roskam seems to a full-fledged member of that group. Vote your conscience, poll your public and vote their will, but stand by your vote. Don't claim credit for something you didn't do. Hopefully, DuPage voters will keep his vote, not his claims, in mind in November.
