Six-vehicle pile up with injuries on Route 53 near Euclid Avenue

One person received minor injuries after a semi-truck and five cars crashed on Route 53 near Euclid Avenue in Rolling Meadows early Friday.

Illinois Sate police officials said they are still trying to determine what caused the six-vehicle pileup at about 7:15 a.m.

The official added one person with minor injuries was transported to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. The condition of the driver remains unknown at this time.

No citations have been issued as of 10:35 a.m., officials said. However, the scene has been cleaned up and investigators are still trying to reconstruct the accident to determine a cause.
