Elginbull; Oliverio Toto, 25, of the 1900 block of West Algonquin Road, Mount Prospect, was charged with two felony counts of identity theft - police saying he used a Colorado man's Social Security card to make more than $100,000 at John B. Sanfilippo and Sons in Elgin, between 2006 and 2010. Reports also said he used the same person's information to obtain a refund from the government that ranged between $300 and $2,000. Elgin police learned of the incident earlier this month and ran their own investigation. Toto's bail was set at $85,000 and he is due in court June 4. If found guilty of the most serious identity theft charge, he could spend between six and 30 years in prison. bull; Glenn L. Gondeck, 57, of the 600 block of Columbia Avenue, Elgin, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 2:44 p.m. Wednesday at Newsome Park, 270 Kimball St., reports said. An officer on patrol stopped to question several people drinking at the park and noticed a bulge in Gondeck's sock, reports said. Officers found 2.8 grams of pot on Gondeck, along with a smoking pipe, reports said. He is due in court on June 25, reports said.bull; Raymond T. Williams, 19, of the 400 block of Crystal Lake Road, Lake in the Hills, was arrested and charged with retail theft after he tried to steal a $7 pair of sunglasses at 4:48 p.m. Wednesday from Burlington Coat Factory, 250 S. Randall Road, reports said. He is due in court on July 13, reports said.bull; A man with a "unique accent" was backing up in a white Honda four-door at about 6:46 p.m. Wednesday in the Butera parking lot, 3 Clocktower Plaza, when he almost struck a child, reports said. The child's mom yelled at the man, who got out of his car, yelled back and slapped her across the face, reports said. No immediate arrests were made.Kane Countybull; Felton B. Washington, 44, of the 1300 block of Monomy Street, Aurora, was arrested at 9:42 a.m. Tuesday and charged with disorderly conduct at the Kane County Judicial Center, 37W777 Route 38, near St. Charles, according to a police report. Police said Washington "charged" up to a court clerk who was assisting another man and demanded to know where he was supposed to appear in court. After the clerk told him to wait in line, police said, Washington called her names and yelled profanities. He then went to a courtroom, where he was "mouthy" with a judge, and was later "unruly" in the hallway. Washington was arrested after pushing a police officer who asked him to leave. bull; Ismael Rojo, 34, of the 300 block of Raymond Street, Elgin, was cited at 8:40 p.m. Sunday for driving without a valid license and failure to secure a child younger than 8 in a restraint system after crashing his 1999 Ford F-250 truck into a fence on the 46W300 block of Plank Road, near Hampshire, police said. bull; Three drills were reported stolen Tuesday from a toolbox in the bed of a truck on the 09N700 block of Beckman Trail, near Elgin, police said. bull; Two eastbound vehicles were sideswiped by a farm tractor about 4:14 p.m. Monday in a hit-and-run on Bowes Road, west of Crawford Road, in Plato Township. Police said the tractor, described as red with no cab, did not stop after the accident. Witnesses said the driver was a white man, 40 to 55 years old. bull; Two tires on a Buick Skylark were reported slashed Monday on the 12N800 block of Meadow Lark Drive, near Hampshire.McHenry Countybull; Three men were arrested on charges of constructing a homemade explosive device, sheriff's police said. On May 25, police were called to the 7700 block of Brook Drive in Wonder Lake, where they found the device on a resident's property, a report said. The resident said he heard loud noises outside his residence during the night. After conducting an investigation, police arrested Nicholas W. Callas, 18, of the 7500 block of Salem Drive, Wonder Lake; Joseph C. Callas, 20, same address; and Jeremiah C. Panagopoulos, 18, of the 800 block of North Hart Street, Harvard, the report said. All three were charged with unlawful use of weapons and disorderly conduct, misdemeanors that carry up to one year in prison or two years' probation. No one was hurt; police believe it was an isolated incident.
