Mariano's targets July 19 opening in Arlington Heights

The first Mariano's Fresh Market, a new supermarket from Roundy's, will open July 20 in Arlington Heights after a related charity event July 19, according to village officials.

A spokesman for the company declined to confirm the dates and said a local charity to benefit from the opening has not yet been selected.

The store, to be located where Lattof Chevrolet stood at Northwest Highway and Kensington Road, has been approved to sell packaged liquor and hold wine tastings. The village board also recently approved an indoor-outdoor cafe/deli area with up to 81 seats at the store.
