Lights out at Wrigley Field
Where were you when the lights went out at Wrigley Field?
Cubs pitcher Tom Gorzelanny was in the middle of delivering ball four to the Dodgers' Blake DeWitt at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday night when the ballpark suddenly went dark as the lights failed.
A cause was not immediately known, and play resumed at 8:43 under full power.
The Cubs reported that two games have been delayed in the past by power failures, both in 2003. On May 6, 2003, a power outage in the Lakeview area hit Wrigley Field in the ninth inning in the Cubs' 9-6 loss to the Brewers. The game was delayed for about 15 minutes.
On June 24, 2003, the Cubs-Brewers game was stopped for 16 minutes by an outage in the first inning.
