Don't mix tax money and private schools

On May 6, an article by Chase Castle was published in regards to the school voucher bill that failed to pass. I am happy that it didn't pass.

Our tax money is not to be used for private school education.

I sent my three children to Catholic schools, and I paid every penny. It wasn't easy with one paycheck, but I made the sacrifice. I paid real estate taxes at the same time. I really paid for two school systems but that was my choice.

I resent the fact that our legislatures even think of doing this outrageous act. The government should stay out of mixing government and church business together. It only makes for a volatile cocktail and taxpayers watch in the future as they have promised to bring it up again. I am not alone with this statement.

Parents who choose to send their children to a private school while paying real estate taxes don't get any deductions on their taxes for the tuition paid. I do not want any of my real estate tax money paying for private schooling.

It is an insult to our country and the taxpayers for our politicians to even bring such a bill up for voting. Our politicians are in for a rude awakening come this next election because we are going to clean house. The taxpayers are finally waking up and not falling for all of their empty promises as in the past.

We need for them to cut the spending and they just keep dreaming up more and more ideas on how to spend our tax money. We need to make a clean sweep come November.
