Buffalo Grove cops investigating armed robbery

Buffalo Grove police continue to investigate an armed robbery Wednesday morning in the 700 block of Buffalo Grove Road.

Steve Husak, spokesman for the Buffalo Grove Police Department, said at least one Hispanic male entered the Eye Q Optique about 8 a.m., told the store owner to get to the ground, and indicated he had a weapon.

"We are unsure at this point if it was one, two, or three offenders that entered the store," Husak said. "Officers are still on the scene investigating."

He said the offender, described to be in his mid 20s and wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt and baseball cap, fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Detectives still are speaking with the store owner and other witnesses about the robbery.
