Bid on a chance to dance with Buzz Aldrin

Ladies, get ready to see stars by dancing with a famous astronaut.

The National Space Society is auctioning off one dance with Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin as a fundraiser at its Governors Dance Saturday, May 29, in the Avedon Ballroom of the InterContinental Chicago O'Hare Hotel, 5300 N. River Road in Rosemont.

Aldrin, a star on "Dancing with the Stars" this season, and a member of NSS's Board of Governors, has offered one dance to a woman chosen by the person who offers to make the largest donation to NSS. Donations must be more than $1,200. All bidders must be at least 18 years old, but the dance can be transferred to a minor.

Dinner for the winner and a guest is included with the dance. The dance will be a fox trot, possibly to the music of "What a Wonderful World" or "Fly Me to the Moon."

Bidders should send an e-mail to ISDC-DanceWithBuzz@nss.org. The note should provide the bidder's name, address, as many contact phone numbers as possible so the winner can be notified quickly, and the amount of the bid. All bids must be received by 3 p.m. Friday, May 28.
