Corrupt Illinois needs Kirk in Senate
You read the words "politics," "Illinois," "Chicago" and "corruption" in the same sentence all the time. Our state's record of elected statewide officials charged with political corruption is breathtaking and shameful.
Even Barack Obama's rise to the presidency and his Illinois team are talked about with references to the Chicago machine and its shady characters. You could argue that his rise has spread and strengthened the state's reputation of corruption to the whole country.
Now we get to the Blagojevich circus this summer as our former celebrity governor heads to trial. Frustration has become an embarrassment and we need to send an honest, independent politician to the U.S. Senate that will show our state's political process doesn't have to be a joke or where only corrupt ties allow one to succeed.
Alexi Giannoulias and his connections to Broadway Bank's violations and Bright Star program should not be overlooked. He used his Broadway Bank ties to help get him elected treasurer.
The answer to the state's political correction is Mark Kirk who has proved in his years in Congress that he's the easy choice to represent all of Illinois in the US Senate.
