One hurt in rollover on Route 59 in Naperville

One person was injured Tuesday morning in a rollover accident on Route 59 at the Reagan Tollway.

Pavitra Durgam, 26, of Chicago, was southbound on Route 59 and attempting to turn onto eastbound I-88 when she cut in front of a car heading north on Route 59 at about 8:15 a.m., said Naperville police Sgt. Gregg Bell.

The northbound driver attempted to swerve out of the way, but hit a curb, was hit by Durgam, then flipped over. The roadway was shut down briefly while the accident was cleaned up, Bell said.

While a Naperville officer was driving the victim home, he complained of back pain, so the officer took the victim to Edward Hospital for treatment.

Durgam was cited for failure to yield in the accident.
