Illinois lawmakers often disappoint
Thanks for the great summary of accomplishments and short comings of our representatives in the State Legislature.
So let me get this straight they decided that they were unable to deal with our state financial crisis ($13 billion dollar deficit), opted to ignore the redistricting mess that allows these self interested guys to draw political boundaries to guarantee that they are always reelected and couldn't decide on allowing gaming at racetracks to fund needed statewide construction programs (since they don't seem to have an option).
They did however crackdown on "sexting," "tweaked red light cameras" and made it illegal to own a monkey.
Really you couldn't make this stuff up.
Every year I scream about people not voting in the primaries (less than 25 percent in Illinois this past January).
How can we blame them given the choices we have?
