Arlington joins Ride of Silence

The Arlington Heights Bicycle Club will participate in the international Ride of Silence at 7 p.m. Wednesday. This honors people injured or killed bicycling on public roadways.

The 10-mile loop starts and ends at Recreation Park, 500 E. Miner St., Arlington Heights. All cyclists are invited to participate in the event and are asked to arrive 20 minutes early.

One purpose of the silent ride is to remind motorists and officials that bicyclists have a legal right to be on the roadways and drivers should be watchful. The Arlington Heights Bicycle Commission is a co-sponsor. Visit cyclearlington.com for details.
