Chicago Sky 2010 roster

The Sky announced its 11-player roster on Friday. The Sky traded guard Kristi Toliver to the Sparks for a second-round draft pick in 2011, cut former Oklahoma all-American Courtney Paris, and said goodbye to six-year veteran K.B. Sharp, who announced she would pursue other interests this season. Former Illinois State guard Kristi Cirone also did not make the team. Two rookies made the team.

Here's the roster, with comments by Patricia Babcock McGraw:

KEY: Number/name/position/height/weight/college/years/comment

1/Tamera Young/F/6-2/170/James Madison/2/ A "tweener" who can go inside and out; first player from James Madison in WNBA

3/Dominique Canty/G/5-9/166/Alabama/11/ The vet keeps tickin' and will start at point while mentoring rookie Epiphanny Prince

5/Erin Thorn/G/5-9/144/Brigham Young/7/Reliable reserve plays tough defense and has a knack for hitting clutch 3-pointers

8/Mistie Bass/F/6-3/190/Duke/4/ Chubby Checker's daughter isn't afraid to do the dirty work down in the post

10/Epiphanny Prince/G/5-9/167/Rutgers/R/ Point guard of the future is complete package: prolific scorer and heady playmaker

11/Jia Perkins/G/5-8/155/Texas Tech/5/ All-star sharpshooter has played some of her best basketball in last two seasons

20/Shameka Christon/F/6-1/174/Arkansas/6/ New addition should add small forward scoring punch Sky has lacked in the past

21/Abi Olajuwon/C/6-4/236/Oklahoma/R/ Hakeem's daughter has good size and earned a spot with hustle on the boards

24/Sandora Irvin/F/6-3/185/Texas Christian/4/ Agile forward plays tough defense and is known for her shot-blocking abilities

33/Cathrine Kraayeveld/F/6-3/183/Oregon/5/ A rare combination: Can defend the post like a big, but can hit the three like a guard

34/Sylvia Fowles/C/6-6/200/Louisiana State/2/ Can be a superstar if she can stay healthy from wire to wire for first time in career

Head coach: Steven Key (Boston University); Associate head coach: Stephanie White (Purdue); Assistant coach: Michael Mitchell (Fresno State)
