Not much on which to fault Giannoulias
Mark Kirk has apparently found only one issue with which to attack Alexi Giannoulias. That is the family bank. This is in itself a testimonial to Giannoulias. To hang the problems of the Broadway Bank on the back of the Giannoulias senate campaign is so crass as to be ludicrous. Yes, he was a senior loan officer. Yes, some loans were made four years ago that later proved to be unworthy. However, four years ago, the economy and the criteria for judgment were quite different from that of the past several months. That opinion is supported by reports that more than 100 Illinois small banks had the same problem,
The application of hindsight for political purposes is hardly a fair assessment of a man's judgment. I'll go with the judgment that used Illinois assets to persuade a bank to reconsider foreclosure on Hart-Marx and save a business and its jobs for the citizens of Illinois. All of this at no cost to taxpayers.
I'm supporting Alexi Giannoulias for Senate, and I hope you will also.
