Medical marijuana will ease suffering
Fourteen states allow people who are suffering from serious conditions like cancer, epilepsy and muscular dystrophy to use marijuana to make their pain bearable. Let's be the fifteenth. Our state Senate has already passed the "Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Act." Now it is up to the House. Let us make our legislators aware of our sympathy with those who suffer and our wish that they should not suffer needlessly.
The legislation being considered contains extensive regulations concerning access, quantity and physician oversight. Let's give compassion a try.
