85-year-old Highland Park woman dies after fight over will
Authorities say a scuffle over a will has left an 85-year-old Highland Park woman dead.
Thelma DePalma called police to her Highland Park home Thursday to say a female acquaintance had pushed her as they argued over a will.
The woman was a relative of a male friend of DePalma's who recently died.
As DePalma talked to officers, they noticed a bump on her head that was swelling. Paramedics were called, and DePalma died later in the day.
The Cook County medical examiner's office says she died of assault, blunt head trauma and cerebral injuries. Her death has been ruled a homicide.
No charges have yet been filed.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
