Hawks hire Dillard as assistant

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Iowa coach Fran McCaffery has hired former Indiana State and James Madison head coach Sherman Dillard as an assistant.

McCaffery announced the move Wednesday, completing his full-time staff.

Dillard has served as a camp director for Nike since 2004. Dillard spent the previous 25 years in coaching, including stints as the head coach at Indiana State from 1994-97 and at James Madison from 1997-2004.

Dillard has also been an assistant at Maryland, California and Georgia Tech.
