Noland does right by constituents

Sen. Michael Noland is a champion for our children and communities.

In 2002 when he first ran for elected state office, then candidate Mike Noland knocked on my friend's door; and when he heard about how poorly our schools were funded in Illinois from Jen, he grasped onto that issue, made reform of education funding a focus of not only his campaigns but of his legislative work as our state senator. He cares about our children, educators and our schools.

Sen. Noland cares about our seniors and those on fixed incomes as well. In his work on tax reform in Illinois, property tax relief has been an issue that Mike has fought hard for. Sen. Noland knows that when the state does not do i's fair share of funding our collective priorities, education, health care, human services and public safety, local taxes go up, unfairly burdening those on fixed incomes. Knowing this, he continues to educate citizens and fight hard for what is right, as opposed to taking the easy route, and misleading the voter through sound bytes and half truths.

Sen. Noland helped pass HB 174 in the Senate last spring. This bill languished in the Illinois House, not yet being called to the floor for a vote, yet Sen. Noland continues to hold town hall meetings to educate citizens on the facts of the situation, as well as the merits of this bill. Mike could just claim that he did his part, but he continues to fight for us. That is true leadership.

Thank you, Sen. Noland, for doing what is right by your constituents.
