Pope should be on the hot seat

Once again, George Kocan of Warrenvile (May 4 Fence Post) does not get it. The pope passed around priests who sexually molested children period. He is culpable, as is the Catholic Church, but the media is not.

The media reports the abuse, they do not create it, that the Pope did by passing around known priests that were having sex with children. That is a crime in all other parts of our society. His signature is on the paperwork, not the media's.

Hopefully these simple words will help Mr. Kocan realize if you want better news from the media, then do better as people, but in this case the media are only doing their job. And they are leaving a lot of information unseen form the public, so they are really helping pass along a few pedophiles by not reporting more often and with stronger words.

The pope is the center of all the problems, because he heads the church, and his signature is on the paperwork.
