Now is not time for new village hall

I am writing in regards to the article "Mundelein buying downtown parcel for future village hall" on April 2.

This is outrageous after all the cuts the village is doing, they just happen to have $7 million hanging around for the use of another building because they say the village hall is too small and antiquated.

What about the hard workers who are losing their jobs to help the budget of the city? That $7 million could be saving people their homes and would provide food on the table for their families when they get home.

It seems like they are throwing this into the faces of the employees being let go, showing them that "yea we have the money but another building is more important than your jobs." That is such a slap in the face to any city employee who is in the "danger zone" of being let go.

This sure shows how much the village cares about the employees. A bigger facility would make sense if they had the occupants to fill it, but letting go so many of the employees, why move into a bigger one?

Where is the village doing any good to the employees, who are involuntarily being let go, when they are buying this? The one who should be let go is Mr. Lobaito for making such a big purchase when just a few weeks ago they told the employees of a cut that would be happening due to budget cuts in the village.
