Nebendahl homers in Neuqua Valley victory

Neuqua Valley 11, South Elgin 0: Leigh Nebendahl was 3-for-3 with a home run and 4 RBI as the Wildcats (19-8, 10-4) won in the Upstate Eight Conference. Corinne Sheley went 2-for-4 with a double and 4 RBI. Jena Boudreau (8-2) struck out 11 for the shutout.

Glenbard South 2, Geneva 0: Pitcher Jess Wilkes (16-2) struck out seven and didn't give up a walk to earn the 1-hit shutout for the Raiders (22-3, 10-0) in the Western Sun Conference game. Geneva's only hit came on a swinging bunt in the fifth inning. Catcher Jackie Wrona tripled for Glenbard South.

Lisle 3, Wheaton Academy 0: Stephanie Petkovsek went 3-for-3 with a triple, 1 run scored and an RBI for the Lions (13-8) in the nonconference game. Pitcher Melanie Early (5-4) struck out 8 for the win. Wheaton Academy is 11-10.

Naperville North 9, Waubonsie Valley 0: Naperville North's Sammy Marshall was 2-for-4 with 3 runs scored and pitcher Lauren Clouston (5-5) went 3-for-4 and earned the win. Jessica Stapleton and Caitlyn Warren each had 2 RBI for the Huskies (14-10) in the nonconference game.

St. Charles North 5, Wheaton North 3: Katie Thornton fell to 6-1 on the season with the nonconference loss. Paige Wilson drove in 2 runs for the Falcons (15-7).

Leyden 9, Willowbrook 8: Willowbrook (10-17, 4-4 West Suburban Gold) took a 3-run lead in the top of the 10th inning but couldn't hold on against Leyden (20-6, 6-1).

York 2, Hinsdale Central 1: Charlene Osmanski earned the victory for the Dukes in the West Suburban Silver.
