Kane Countybull; Jimmy W. Darnell Jr., 29, and Monica Galvan, 32, both of the 500 block of Jefferson Avenue, Elgin, were arrested on drug charges after police carried out a search warrant April 29 at their home, police said. Officers found less than a gram of cocaine, 3.8 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and several clear plastic bags, according to a police report. Darnell and Galvan were each charged with possession of a controlled substance, and Galvan also was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, police said. bull; A driver's side window was reported broken April 28 on the 36W100 block of Erie Street, near Elgin. Police said nothing inside the vehicle, including a radar detector and stereo, was stolen. bull; A John Deere tractor was reported stolen Monday from Buck Brothers, 14N937 Route 20, near Pingree Grove. Police said surveillance footage showed a white, extended-cab pickup truck, possibly a Ford, pulling into the parking lot at 10:25 p.m. April 30, and the tractor being loaded onto a trailer behind the truck. The video did not show a clear view of the suspect, police said. bull; A lawn ornament was used to break a vehicle windshield on the 38W200 block of Henricksen Road, near St. Charles, according to a police report filed Wednesday. Damage was estimated at $200. bull; A mailbox and post valued at $750 were reported damaged Wednesday in an apparent hit-and-run crash on the 5N100 block of Dover Hill Road, near St. Charles. Police said they found two tire marks and a piece of white fiberglass at the scene.Elginbull; Someone slashed the tires on a 1999 Volkswagen Golf in the 500 block of Orange Street between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday, reports said.bull; A 2009 Pontiac G5 in the 2000 block of Boxwood Drive was ransacked and an 8 gigabyte iPod and power cord stolen from it between 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, reports said. Another vehicle in the 2600 block of Boxwood also had a Palm Treo wireless phone stolen from it during the same time frame.bull; Police were called to the 300 block of McClure Avenue at 12:02 a.m. Thursday after residents heard three gunshots, reports said. Stewart, 18, of the 500 block of Stewart Street, was charged with illegal possession of alcohol by a minor, at 4:43 p.m. Tuesday at Shanahan Park, 740 Cleveland Ave., according to a police report.bull; A $20 bill was stolen off a counter at 7-Eleven, 336 E. Wilson St., it was reported at 3:36 p.m. Monday, police said.
