New Wheeling townhouses offer convenient location

As sales wind down at Willow Place, only four townhouses remain, and the builder offers the two models for purchase as well. The upscale townhouse community features 58 homes nestled among tall trees near a creek and open, natural space in Northwest suburban Wheeling.

Located on the south side of Wheeling at Foster Avenue and Old Willow Road, the Lexington Homes community sits near forest preserves, bike trails, nature paths, parks and an aquatic center. Nearby amenities include the well-known restaurant row on Milwaukee Avenue, the Westin Hotel and area golf courses.

The community offers two, three-story floor plans with three bedrooms, two baths and attached rear two-car garages to enhance curb appeal. Professional landscaping includes trees and flowers that will make buyers feel at home.

"Willow Place offers a great product and a great location," said Jeff Benach, executive vice president of Lexington Homes. "As we've seen the community develop, it has become more and more attractive.

"This has been such a successful community because there isn't much new construction in a close-in location like this. If someone wants new construction, this is the only new community in this area."

With no Hickory units left, the Hickory model is available with 2,012 square feet, priced at $353,720. This end unit features a side entrance and mostly single-level living, with a first-floor master suite that especially appeals to downsizers and empty-nesters.

The main level features a two-story foyer and open floor plan with hardwood flooring and a lot of natural light. Full two-story volume ceilings in the dining and living rooms create drama and plenty of space for artwork.

The living room features a corner fireplace with granite surround and wood mantel, while a tan sofa contrasts with dark wood furnishings. Copper accessories add interest.

A round glass table for four sits in the dining room where a terra cotta wall adds color. A door leads to the outside balcony.

The eat-in kitchen features stainless steel appliances, chocolate glazed cabinetry topped with granite, pantry and a breakfast bar. The sink overlooks the living space.

For easy accessibility, the master suite is located on the main level. The carpeted room features a metallic green wall, draperies with copper trim, lots of artwork and walk-in closet. The deluxe master bath has a dual-bowl raised-height vanity with cultured marble top, corner soaking tub and walk-in shower with seat.

The second level with two secondary bedrooms and full bath can well serve as a guest floor, perfect for visiting children or out-of-town guests. A large loft overlooks the living area below.

The finished lower level features a family room with game theme, full bath and laundry room.

The Chestnut is priced from $329,990 and features 1,789 square feet. This model shows a more contemporary look with some of the homebuilder's most stylish inclusions, such as arched openings, a kitchen pass-through with breakfast bar, and a built-in window seat in the living room.

The open living room and dining room features a dark blue wall with a mirror display above the sofa, two chairs and dark wood furnishings. White draperies with green trim dress the windows.

A glass-topped rectangular table with blue and green place settings is surrounded with walls of contemporary artwork.

The eat-in kitchen shows stainless steel appliances, maple cabinetry with granite countertops, pantry and built-in buffet that provides extra serving and storage space. A pub table and four chairs sit in the breakfast area where doors open to an oversized balcony.

A powder room with pedestal sink and laundry room complete the main level.

Upstairs, the master suite with cathedral ceiling features a green metallic wall, dark wood furnishings and blue spread topped with green and chocolate pillows. The green wallpapered bath has a dual-bowl raised height vanity with cultured marble top and tub and shower combo.

A full hall bath with walk-in shower serves the two secondary bedrooms, which have upgraded vaulted ceilings. One room is shown as a guest room while the other is outfitted as a home office with a desk and open bookcases on either side. A second master suite is optional in lieu of the two bedrooms.

The lower level decorated as a home theater is bathed in sunlight because of the expansive, deep-silled windows that line one wall. This is a great spot to gather with friends or family.
