The owner told police she cut down the tree last fall and was storing the trunk in her yard while waiting to get a wood splitter to make firewood. About 11:30 a.m. on April 28, a neighbor saw a man cutting up the trunk with a chain saw and loading it into a dark green or brown pickup truck, possibly a Chevrolet. The trunk owner told police she would not sign a complaint if the wood is returned.
