Workshop to improve family communication

A free parenting workshop will be offered from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at Montessori Academy, 525 S. River St. (Route 25) in Batavia.

The workshop leader is Dr. Amy MacDonald, a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in Batavia. She has been a favorite at the Batavia Parent Academy and many other events in the area.

All good parents want their children to be respectful, successful and joyful. So why does that outcome seem so hard to achieve sometimes?

Often, even really good parents make common mistakes that get in the way of having a peaceful home in which parents are the loving leaders and children are respectful, secure, and nurtured.

MacDonald has her insight with thousands of parents looking to improve communication, increase respect and cooperation and reduce conflict, nagging and yelling. She will offer some common-sense alternatives designed to strengthen and reassure parents.

All area parents are invited to attend this free workshop. Child care will be provided. To R.S.V.P., call (630) 879-2586, or e-mail Stacie@montessoribatavia.com.
