Man ordered to pay Steve Miller Band for bad check
CASPER, Wyo. -- A concert promoter who pleaded guilty to writing a $91,000 bad check to the Steve Miller Band has been sentenced to probation and ordered to pay restitution to the band.
Forty-eight-year-old Robert Alfred Green of Scottsdale, Ariz., was sentenced Tuesday. He pleaded guilty in February to felony check fraud.
The judge told Green if he violates the terms of his probation he could be imprisoned for between four and seven years.
Green was accused of writing the bad check for a November 2008 Steve Miller Band concert at the Casper Events Center.
The band, which formed in 1967, is known for hit songs "Take the Money and Run" and "The Joker."
