GOP opposition is predictable
Surely, no one is surprised by the Republican refusal to address financial reform. Let's face it, they are supported by:
Wall Street, so why would they legislate in favor of financial reform;
Big banks, so why would they legislate in favor of some - any - big bank control;
Oil, i.e., big oil companies, so why would they legislate in favor of any energy production other than big oil;
Big pharmaceutical companies, so why would they legislate in favor of any health care reform;
Any anti-union mining, construction, organized production industry position that would create law that would support worker safety.
Does any of this come as a surprise to anyone? If so, they must have been living on a foreign planet somewhere.
