Opportunity center holds fundraiser

The Palatine Opportunity Center will hold its annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at the Twin Lakes Clubhouse, 1200 E. Twin Lakes Drive in Palatine.

Featured will be a Mexican buffet, entertainment and games. Proceeds will benefit the not-for-profit Palatine Opportunity Center, an organization which each year provides and coordinates a variety of services for more than 11,000 low income people living and working in northeast Palatine Township.

Its vision is to build a community of strong citizens, healthy families and vibrant neighborhoods. The event is open to the public.
