Band gives Mother's Day concert

The Palatine Concert Band, under the direction of Ron Polancich, will perform a Mother's Day Concert on 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 9, at Cutting Hall, 150 E. Wood Street in Palatine.

The winner of the band's concerto competition, Dan Quinn, a junior from Fremd High School, will be the featured soloist on the trombone.

Colas Breugnon, Lincolnshire Posy, Irving Berlin Showstoppers along with works by Sousa and Leroy Anderson will be performed.

In honor of Mother's Day, the first 80 mothers will receive a special gift.
