Padres 8, Brewers 0SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Padres shut out the Milwaukee Brewers for the third time in four games on Sunday on a combined three-hitter by Jon Garland and two relievers.It was the first time the Padres had three shutouts in a series in their 42-year history.Scott Hairston and Kyle Blanks hit consecutive homers in the fifth for the NL West leaders, who outscored the Brewers 21-2 in taking three of four. San Diego won the first two games 9-0 and 3-0 before losing 2-1 on Saturday night. The Padres lead the majors with six shutouts.Garland (3-2) won his third straight start by holding the Brewers to three singles in seven innings, while Randy Wolf (2-2) took the loss for Milwaukee.Rockies 4, Giants 1SAN FRANCISCO -- Jhoulys Chacin allowed one hit in seven scoreless innings for his first major league win, Melvin Mora hit a two-run single and the Rockies avoided a three-game sweep.Chacin (1-0) struck out seven and didn't allow a hit until Matt Downs' two-out double in the fifth, one of only a couple of well-struck balls he gave up.Paul Phillips drew a bases-loaded walk from Jonathan Sanchez (2-2) in the fourth to put Colorado ahead 1-0 and Ryan Spilborghs also singled home a run in the four-run fifth. The Rockies snapped their season-worst three-game losing streak.Marlins 9, Nationals 3MIAMI -- Hanley Ramirez drove in four runs with two homers, and the Marlins took the rubber game to win a series for the first time in two weeks.Ramirez hit a three-run homer in the third inning to put Florida ahead, then added a solo homer in the sixth. The 2009 NL batting champion has five home runs this season, including three in his past seven at-bats, and in the last two games he's doubled his season RBI total to 14.Josh Johnson (3-1) gave up two runs in the second and then settled down, departing after six innings with a 7-2 lead. He walked four and struck out eight.John Lannan (1-2) allowed six runs in five innings and is winless in his past four starts.American League Orioles 3, Red Sox 2, 10 inningsBALTIMORE -- Ty Wigginton doubled home the winning run in the 10th inning following a throwing error by Boston closer Jonathan Papelbon, giving Baltimore its first three-game sweep of the Red Sox at home in 36 years.Miguel Tejada had two hits and scored a run for the Orioles, whose three-game winning streak is a season high. The Orioles swept a four-game series from Boston at Camden Yards in 1998, but hadn't swept a three-game set against the Red Sox in Baltimore since Sept. 2-4, 1974.The Orioles are 4-2 against the Red Sox after going 2-16 against them last year.Nick Markakis led off the 10th with a walk against Papelbon (1-2). Markakis went to second on an errant throw to first by the reliever, then scored without a throw when Wigginton doubled to left-center.Matt Albers (2-3) worked the 10th for his second win in the series.Jason Varitek and J.D. Drew homered for the Red Sox, who fell to 11-14. Josh Beckett allowed two runs in seven innings.Blue Jays 9, Athletics 3TORONTO -- Shaun Marcum won for the first time since 2008, supported by home runs from Fred Lewis, Alex Gonzalez and Aaron Hill in Toronto's victory over Oakland.Hill went 3 for 4 with a walk and the Blue Jays pounded out 10 extra-base hits to win for the seventh time in nine games against the Athletics. Oakland has lost nine of 13 and saw its starting pitchers go 1-5 with an 11.96 ERA on a six-game road trip.Marcum (1-1), who missed last season after elbow ligament replacement surgery, won for the first time since Sept. 11, 2008, at the Chicago White Sox. The right-hander allowed one run and six hits in 6 1-3 innings.Toronto jumped on a struggling Ben Sheets (1-3) with a four-run first. Sheets allowed nine runs and 10 hits in 3 1-3 innings.Rangers 3, Mariners 1, 11 inningsSEATTLE -- David Murphy hit a tying single in the ninth inning and a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the 11th, rallying Texas to a victory over Seattle.Mariners starter Doug Fister allowed only three hits in eight scoreless innings, but Murphy singled off closer David Aardsma in the ninth to drive in Elvis Andrus.Murphy put the Rangers ahead with a sacrifice fly off Mark Lowe (1-3), and Andrus made it 3-1 when he scored on the second passed ball of the inning by catcher Rob Johnson.After another strong start by C.J. Wilson, Dustin Nippert (1-2) pitched a scoreless 10th for the win. Neftali Feliz earned his fifth save -- and second in extra innings during this series.Texas swept a three-game set in Seattle for the first time since April 1999 at the old Kingdome.
