Watch your language

"Because I heard the tea party participants being accused of using pejorative language..." is how Vincent Froberg opens his April 20 letter to the editor.

Mr. Froberg then goes on to say that he attended a tea party in Rockford to see for himself and found that the people he met were "nice folks."

So after establishing that the tea party participants in Rockford were nice folks, Mr. Froberg then himself resorts to pejorative language, when discussing the concern of these nice folks: "They know that the irresponsible Socialist Democrats now in control... ."

In addition to their strategy of saying no to the President on almost every issue, Republican officials have sent out talking points to the conservative media to describe Democrats as Socialists and Communists and to say the Democrats are out to destroy the country. If you doubt this, just listen to Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck and others in the conservative media.

I wonder if Mr. Froberg was also upset when the conservative Bush administration: lied the country into an unnecessary war and bungled the prosecution of the war in Afghanistan; conducted illegal electronic surveillance on Americans; doubled the national debt; and almost wrecked the economy with its laissez-faire policy.

Mr. Froberg is a right wing partisan who, as he as demonstrated, is not above using pejorative language himself.
