One dead in tollway crash

A 31-year-old Waukegan man died early Saturday after a crash on the Tri-State Tollway in Lake County.

Mark Copeland was pronounced dead at the scene about 4 a.m., Lake County Coroner Richard Keller said. Copeland died from multiple trauma, Keller said.

Keller said Copeland was in a vehicle that rear-ended a car ahead of it on the tollway's northbound side at the Lake Forest Oasis about 2:35 a.m. It was not immediately known if Copland was the driver or passenger in the vehicle.
