Spring Re-Clothing Sale huge success

"Going Green" reigned supreme at Barrington United Methodist Women's Spring Re-Clothing Sale. Every article of clothing for sale at Barrington United Methodist Church was sold-out - two hours before closing on Saturday, April 17. Also on Saturday, customers were collecting clothing to be shipped to Haiti, Mexico, Bolivia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Zaire and Tanzania, extending UMW's mission of helping people across the world.

The sale netted over $3,500 - $1,000 more than the previous year - which will be distributed to many local charities, such as the PADS Shelter in Elgin, Northern Illinois Food Bank, and FISH Food Bank in Carpentersville.

UMW's larger, annual Rummage Sale, which includes just about everything imaginable, will be held in early October, and the group looks forward to expanding their mission outreach, thanks to the kindness, hard work and donations of many.
