Long Grove festival woos chocolate lovers

A fresh strawberry dipped in double dark chocolate?

Crunchy popcorn drizzled with melted chocolate? Or perhaps a chocolate martini?

These are the decisions you'll have to make if you attend this weekend's Long Grove's Chocolate Fest.

The popular annual event - featuring entertainment, cooking demonstration, children's activities and vendors selling countless chocolate-themed treats - kicks off today and runs all weekend in downtown Long Grove, near routes 53 and 83.

Hours each day are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and admission and parking are free.

Some of this year's unique activities include an ice cream and chocolate mousse eating contest, and "Random Acts of Chocolate," the walk-around sampling of more than 10,000 pieces of Godiva chocolate.

For a full schedule of activities, see longgroveonline.com.
