Wasn't this a car theft?
Recently Sen. Cullerton issued a statement where he says that he never interferes with the judicial process in relation to his son's various arrests. If that is true, how come since the young man was driving a state vehicle, while apparently intoxicated, he wasn't arrested on charges of theft of a state vehicle?
Sen. Cullerton said that his son's use of the automobile was unauthorized. Are we taxpayers lucky that the state SUV was not involved in a bodily injury accident? Might the taxpayers be on the hook for liability? It's OK, Senator, the taxpayers of Illinois can afford to cover you.
