Lombard man accused of videoing boys free on bond

A Lombard man accused of secretly videotaping boys at local swim meets was released on bond Wednesday, one day after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Nicholas J. Gregor, 31, of the 500 block of North Garfield Street, is facing child pornography, unlawful videotaping and disorderly conduct charges. His bond was set at $110,000, with 10 percent to apply, pending a May 20 court appearance in DuPage County.

Gregor is accused of secretly filming preteen boys June 7, 2007 at Moran Water Park in Lombard and also during an April 14 swim meet at Norris Recreation Center in St. Charles.

In the most recent incident, one of the boys noticed and alerted a parent. Gregor fled, but not before the parent copied down his license plate number. Authorities searched his home, where they said Gregor had hundreds of computer images of child pornography and videos of boys he recorded in various public locations, such as at the Lombard pool, prosecutors said.

They said Gregor has no known connection to either facility.
