Giannoulias at financial reform rally

Republican Mark Kirk's campaign calls it "ridiculous" for Democrat Alexi Giannoulias to campaign on financial reform issues after his family bank collapsed.

Giannoulias, the Illinois treasurer, attended a Chicago rally Wednesday and called on lawmakers in Washington to pass financial reform. He says those who don't support it will have a fight on their hands.

Kirk campaign spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski says Giannoulias lost any credibility on the issue when regulators closed his family's Broadway Bank last week.

Giannoulias and Kirk are battling it out for President Barack Obama's old Senate seat.

Lawmakers in Washington are fighting over what kind of financial regulations to impose after a national recession that some blamed on a freewheeling Wall Street.
