Fabyan Japanese Garden to open May 2

Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley recently announced that the Fabyan Japanese Garden, an original feature of Colonel George and Nelle Fabyan's private estate, will open its doors to the public Sunday, May 2. This oasis will be open Sundays from 1 to 4:30 p.m. throughout May.

From June to October, guests are also welcomed to tour the century-old site Wednesdays from 1 to 4 p.m.

Special events celebrating the garden's centennial birthday are scheduled throughout the summer, beginning with the "East-West Concert" May 23. For a program schedule or details, call (630) 377-6424 or visit www.ppfv.org.

The historic Fabyan Villa Museum will open for the season Saturday, May 15 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Private or group tours are available during nonpublic hours. The museum and garden are owned by the Forest Preserve District of Kane County and operated by Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley. Both sites are in the Fabyan West Forest Preserve on Route 31, just north of Fabyan Parkway in Geneva.
