Batavia League of Women Voters to hold last meeting

After 60 years of community service, the Batavia League of Women Voters will soon cease to exist.

At its annual meeting in May, it is expected to join with the Geneva-St. Charles League to form a new entity, the League of Women Voters of Central Kane County, thereby creating broadened opportunities for membership and action.

The final meeting of the Batavia League will be at 7 p.m. Monday, April 26, at the Batavia Depot Museum, 155 Houston St.

It will feature a presentation highlighting the history of the League and its involvement in so many of the issues related to Batavia's development and progress over the years. At the conclusion, the League's historical documents will be presented to the museum for preservation.
