Use red-light camera revenue for schools
A reader recently wondered where the revenue generated from the red-light camera citations would end up. After reading with great sorrow in the first section of the same newspaper, a listing of all the u-46 teachers that are being forced to leave their teaching positions, how about having the state of Illinois request that the communities that have these cameras allocate some of the revenue from the red light citations go into our financially troubled school districts?
Maybe then paying those tickets would at least be going toward something good for our children. This is to all of the politicians that read this newspaper: Make it happen. Our schools need financial help and increasing taxes in these financially troubling times is not the answer.
