Don't smear right wing

The other day Eugene Robinson wrote a collumn in the Daily Herald about the recent arrest of the Michigan based domestic terror group. This column seemed very biased, sensational, and inaccurate.

He wrote, "For decades now, the most serious threat of domestic terrorism has come from the growing ranks of paranoid, anti-government hate groups that draw their inspiration, vocabulary and anger from the far right."

A simple fact check of public records reveals that the Michigan domestic terrorism suspect, Jacob J. Ward, 33, of Huron, Ohio, was not a right-winger, but a registered Democrat. He voted as a Democrat in the 2004 and 2008 primary elections. Was this a simple oversight or an intentional smear by Mr. Robinson?

Fortunately, law enforcement officials prevented this attack. We all hope that justice will be swift, and we thank the men and women of law enforcement for their service.
