Lk. Zurich High drama department sponsors celebrity carhop night

How would you like to have a burger and tots delivered to you by a Lake Zurich High School Spanish teacher, or sip a shake brought to you courtesy of one of the coaches? Better yet, how about someone from the administration?

One never knows who might be slicking back their hair or wearing a poodle skirt when LZHS Drama Department sponsors a Celebrity Carhop Night at the Lake Zurich SONIC Drive-In on Monday, April 26, from 5 to 9 p.m. SONIC is located at 205 S. Rand Road.

In addition to having fun with friends and watching the serving skills of teachers on skates, 1950s-style music will fill the air.

This special evening, courtesy of SONIC, is just one of the many events planned by the drama department in anticipation of its spring musical, "Grease," premiering at the Lake Zurich Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, through Saturday, May 1, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 2. A portion of the proceeds from the evening will be donated to the drama department to help defray costs of the production.

"We are so pleased to be a part of the celebration leading up to the school's production of 'Grease,'" said John Cywinski, owner of the Lake Zurich SONIC Drive-In. "With SONIC's 1950s roots and the setting of the show, we couldn't think of a more perfect fit!"
