Didn't listen to real experts on space
I was quite amused recently to hear President Obama chide Sarah Palin because of her belief, which mirrored many Americans, concerning his "progress" in the nuclear arms arena.
The president said that basically he trusted the judgment of the leaders that he has chosen in his view of our foreign policy. The very next week, concerning his new plan for NASA, of which the U.S. may be overtaken by China and Russia in the very near future, he failed to heed the advice from the real experts, the men who actually walked on the moon.
What would JFK say? I thought the past space exploration opened the door for technological advances and gave teeth for the push for math and science, to which our nation has benefitted for decades. Perhaps that bit of history is now debated and revised like many things from this current administration to fit its political goals.
