Bean not much of a 'representative

The health care debate and its passage has been a polarizing issue, polarizing on the constituents and their representatives. Any poll of the 8th Congressional District shows that the majority of the people were against the Senate health care bill, yet Melissa Bean voted "yes" for the bill. This vote was made against the will of the people she represented. Based on the latest national polls our congressional representatives are no longer representing the people of their respect districts. The House is known as the people house because they are supposed to represent the will and opinions of their districts. I would like to know when all of that changed.

In the months leading up to the health care vote I personally sent letters weekly at first and daily for the last week leading up to the vote asking my representative Melissa Bean to state how she intended to vote and why. I received not a single response from her. Since the vote I have continued to write to her asking for an explanation as to why she did not follow the will of the majority of her constituents and I have still not received a response.

My hope is that by publishing this open letter in the Daily Herald she will finally explain why she voted against the will of her constituents, the people whom she is supposed to be representing. She may have personal reasons for passing the bill. She may even truly believe that it was a good bill, but when the people you represent are against the bill it was her moral obligation to vote the will of the people not her personal beliefs.

Melissa - please explain to the people you represent why you went against their will and voted for a bill that was not fully understood and is going to do a tremendous amount of personal and economical damage to our district and our nation. We elected you to represent us not the Democratic Party.
