Ribfest adds two country performers

A pair of country music performers - Julianne Hough and Jason Michael Carroll - have been added to the entertainment lineup at Naperville's annual Ribfest celebration.

Organizers of the four-day festival said Hough and Carroll will perform July 2 at Knoch Park, 724 S. West St., near downtown.

Hough has gained fame with both her feet and her voice. A two-time champion on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars," she also was named Top New Artist and Top New Female Vocalist from the Academy of Country Music. Her hits include "That Song in My Head" and "My Hallelujah Song."

Carroll's first album, "Waitin' in the Country," debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's country album charts and produced the hit singles "Alyssa Lies" and "Livin' Our Love Song."

They join a musical lineup that already includes LeAnn Rimes, Sammy Hagar, The Charlie Daniels Band, Jonny Lang, Foghat, Blue Oyster Cult, Los Lonely Boys, Sister Hazel and Tonic.

The festival, sponsored by the Naperville Exchange Club, opens July 1 and runs from noon to 10 p.m. each day through July 4.

In addition to musical acts, the fest includes food from dozens of vendors, a carnival, a circus, inflatables and magic shows.

Proceeds go to combat child abuse.
