Ill-informed, rude and mean
I enjoy reading Fence Post daily because I like to know what others are thinking. Sadly, I'm finishing up my cup of coffee discouraged and depressed.
Some observations: People forget very quickly and have little or no idea of who is responsible/accountable for what in government. There is a mean-spiritedness across our country that seems to stem from misguided self-interest. More are listening to talk radio and reading less. People now believe that hysterical uninformed venting means their rightful expression of opinion, whoever it damages. Even well-informed opinions are set out in a manner of aggressive rudeness. Our President requires, not needs, our respect because he is our elected leader. Freedom means all respecting all, not randomly or specifically hating others because they are not like me.
Help! Corporate America seduced us with consumerism and now they exist in our heads and hearts as well. It is not enough that "I have mine and I want to keep it." In tragedy, we stop and generously help each other. The real tragedy is that, otherwise, we are just mean.
