Take a peek inside Viking Ship in Geneva

Did you know that the Viking Ship, from the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition, is housed at Good Templar Park in Geneva?

Have you always wanted to see Illinois' largest remaining artifact from the Columbian Exposition?

On Saturday, April 24, and Saturday, May 22, the public will have an opportunity to view the Viking Ship in Good Templar Park, 528 East Side Drive, Geneva.

Friends of the Viking Ship will host a "Viking Visitor's Day" from 1 to 4 p.m., describing the ship's amazing voyage from Bergen, Norway, to the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition and its subsequent adventures.

You will see the wonderful stabilization work that has been done and walk up the ramp to view the inside of the ship.

The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for visitors 13-19, and children 12 and under are free.

Friends of the Viking Ship will also be accepting donations to benefit the urgent rivet repair program on both of these dates. Come see this endangered artifact and help Friends on their way to saving the Viking Ship.
