Proud of those who passed health care
During the weeks and months of discussion of health care legislation, I took the time to read a book a friend of mine recommended. This book ("The Healing of America" by T.R. Reid) provided me with much factual information about health care in other countries.
My wife and I were impressed that we purchased a copy for each of our six (adult) children. We wanted them to be informed about the issues. Now that the health care bill has passed, I believe years hence most Americans will look back with gratitude just as most Americans are grateful that Social Security and Medicare legislation was passed years ago.
It will take some time to work out the "kinks" in the health care bill, but in the long run it has been a victory: insurance companies will be held accountable, health care coverage will include many more Americans, etc. We are experiencing historic progress: Quality health care will be affordable. I, for one am proud of each of our representatives in Congress who voted for this health care legislation.
